ETLAB Energy Transtion LABoratory

Research lab at the University of Pavia focused on modern power systems, smart grids, renewables, flexibility markets, and asset intelligence.

ETLAB

Digital Intelligence for Modern Power Networks

ETLAB – Energy Transition Laboratory researches methods and technologies supporting the transition toward low-carbon, digitalized electricity systems.

The lab works on transmission and distribution networks planning and operation, smart grid management, active distribution networks, local flexibility markets, renewable energy integration, microgrids, green hydrogen, and AI-driven tools for asset management, state estimation, and resilient grid control.

Its mission is to generate scientific knowledge and operational solutions supporting TSOs, DSOs  and energy companies in managing complex, decarbonized power systems — bridging mathematical modeling with real-world applicability through collaboration with leading industrial partners.
