Academic PhD Student
He received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the European University of Lefke (Türkiye), graduating with High Honors, and his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pavia, where he graduated with honors (110/110). He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pavia.
His research focuses on the resilience and operation of modern electrical power systems, with particular emphasis on smart grids, renewable energy integration, and intelligent energy infrastructures. His work aims to support the development of reliable, efficient, and sustainable power networks capable of accommodating increasing levels of renewable generation and advanced digital technologies.
His research interests include the analysis of transmission and distribution networks under different operating conditions, including fault scenarios, grid disturbances, and high renewable energy penetration. He is also investigating the application of machine learning and data-driven methodologies to modern power systems, focusing on intelligent monitoring, predictive analytics, optimization, and advanced control strategies for future energy networks. Additional research topics include power system simulation, reliability assessment, protection coordination, and the modelling of electrical distribution systems with integrated photovoltaic generation.
During his academic and professional experience, he has worked on power system simulation, renewable energy integration, grid resilience assessment, and electrical network studies using advanced engineering tools such as ETAP, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, and pandapower. His Master's thesis focused on the transient stability and resilience assessment of the electrical system of Milano Malpensa Airport, involving dynamic modelling, protection analysis, and renewable energy integration studies.
Before joining the Ph.D. program, he gained industrial experience in electrical systems analysis, backup power systems, and power network studies.
