Biography

Executive PhD  Student – A2A S.p.A.

He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy. His academic background includes research in applied measurements for power systems, developed during his Master's thesis.

He is currently an Executive PhD Student in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pavia in collaboration with A2A S.p.A. His research focuses on electric power distribution systems, with particular attention to asset management, predictive maintenance, reliability assessment, and the digitalization of distribution network operations.

His research interests include data-driven methodologies for the operation and maintenance of distribution grid assets, particularly secondary substations. By combining historical fault records, technical asset information, and machine learning techniques, his work aims to support predictive maintenance strategies, improve asset management decisions, and enhance the reliability of modern distribution networks. Additional research topics include smart grid analytics, clustering techniques, anomaly detection, and the digital transformation of electrical infrastructure management.

Alongside his research activities, he works in the Asset Engineering Department at A2A, where he is involved in the definition of technical standards, testing procedures, and the homologation of materials and components for electrical distribution networks. His activities include the technical evaluation, qualification, and standardization of network devices, contributing to their implementation within the company’s distribution grid.
