Description of the event

ETLAB researcher and collaborators will participate in the 10th CIRED Workshop, which will take place in Brussels on June 9–10, 2026. Organized within the CIRED community, one of the leading international references for electricity distribution systems — the workshop will gather more than 600 experts from academia, industry, utilities and research institutions across Europe and worldwide.

The 2026 edition is dedicated to the theme “Implementing Successful Innovation in Distribution Networks”, focusing on the practical deployment of innovative technologies and methodologies for modern electrical distribution systems.

The workshop will address key topics related to smart grids, digitalization, flexibility services, automation, network resilience, renewable energy integration and the future evolution of Distribution System Operators (DSOs). The event will also provide an important platform for discussion on how advanced technologies, data-driven approaches and innovative operational strategies can support the transition toward more sustainable, reliable and intelligent electrical infrastructures.

ETLAB’s participation reflects the laboratory’s ongoing commitment to research and innovation in smart grids, active distribution networks and digital energy technologies, strengthening international collaboration with researchers, utilities and industrial stakeholders operating in the field of modern power systems.
