ETLAB researchers proudly participated in the Summer School “Resilient and Affordable Electricity to Meet Electrification and the AI-Fueled Demand Challenges”, held at the University of Salerno from 6 to 9 July 2026, where the team received the prestigious Best Poster Award.
The award-winning poster, entitled “Edge Computing for Real-Time Monitoring and Self-Healing in Digital Distribution Systems”, explores innovative solutions for improving the resilience and reliability of modern electrical distribution networks through edge computing technologies. By enabling real-time monitoring and decentralized decision-making, the proposed approach contributes to the development of smarter, more efficient, and self-healing power systems capable of addressing the challenges of the ongoing energy transition.
The poster was led by MD Raisul as the main author and developed under the supervision of Prof. Alessandro Bosisio, with contributions from Yassine Zaibi, Cesare Del Prete, Valentina Picco, and Khaled Fettah. Receiving the Best Poster Award represents an important recognition of the quality of the research carried out within ETLAB and its contribution to the advancement of intelligent and digital power systems.
Beyond the scientific program, the Summer School provided an excellent opportunity for networking and collaboration. ETLAB researchers engaged with professors, researchers, and fellow PhD students from several universities and research institutions, exchanging ideas on emerging topics in power systems, artificial intelligence, and energy transition. These interactions fostered valuable academic connections and opened new perspectives for future research collaborations.
The Summer School featured lectures, technical discussions, and poster sessions focused on the future of resilient and affordable electricity systems in response to increasing electrification and the rapidly growing energy demand driven by artificial intelligence applications. The event brought together internationally recognized experts from academia and industry, creating a stimulating environment for learning, discussion, and scientific exchange.
