Description of the event

Unareti technical visit Unareti control room Students visiting Unareti

Professor Alessandro Bosisio, accompanied by ETLAB researchers supporting the educational activities of the laboratory, joined Master’s Degree students in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pavia on a technical visit to the Unareti control room and the primary substation Nord.

The initiative was organized within the graduate course “Planning and Operation of Power Systems” and aimed to provide students with direct exposure to modern electrical distribution infrastructures, smart grid technologies, and the operational challenges faced by Distribution System Operators in the context of the energy transition.

During the visit, students observed real-world monitoring and control systems used for the management of medium- and low-voltage distribution networks, gaining practical insights into the digitalization and evolution of modern power systems.

A special contribution was provided by Unareti experts Andrea Angloni and Luigi Zagone, who guided the visit and shared their experience on the operation, planning and management of advanced electrical distribution networks.

The activity represented an important occasion to strengthen the connection between academic education, industrial practice and innovation in the field of smart grids and sustainable energy systems.
