Description of the event

ETLAB researchers and collaborators will participate in the 61st International Universities Power Engineering Conference (UPEC 2026), hosted by the University of Cagliari from August 30 to September 2, 2026.

The conference will bring together researchers, academics and industry professionals from around the world to discuss innovative technologies and methodologies supporting the transition toward sustainable and carbon-neutral energy systems.

Under the theme “Bridging Power Engineering Heritage and the AI-Driven Energy Future”, UPEC 2026 will focus on the integration of artificial intelligence, digitalization and data-driven approaches into modern electrical power systems. The event will explore how traditional power engineering principles can evolve through AI-based tools and advanced analytics to improve the resilience, flexibility and sustainability of future energy infrastructures.

The conference will provide an important international platform for scientific exchange on topics including smart grids, renewable energy integration, intelligent power system operation and planning, digital energy technologies, optimization methodologies and the future of AI-driven electrical networks.
